Oxygen production is the most important equipment in iron and steel production, oxygen circulating water system is also one of the most critical systems, its running quality directly affects the stability of downstream production.

With the rapid development of oxygen production technology, the emergence of new oxygen production technology (molecular sieve), oxygen cooling water system has also appeared new problems. That is, after the operation of the oxygen generating unit for a period of time, there is no scaling phenomenon in the heat exchange equipment, but scaling (low-temperature scale) phenomenon in the low-temperature water system. The production of low-temperature scale, light caused by the increase of water pressure into the air cooling tower, the decrease of the chilled water flow, the reduction of the temperature difference between the water in and out of the freezer (normal temperature difference of 5 ° C), the frosting of the freezer head, the increase of the air intake resistance of the air cooling tower, the decrease of the heat transfer rate, the heavy caused the serious scaling of the refrigerator evaporator, the air cooling tower, the water cooling tower and the filter net, resulting in production suspension. Under normal circumstances, when the circulating system is at high temperature (70℃-80℃), carbonate and other high-temperature scale are formed on the surface of the heat exchange equipment, and low-temperature scale is formed at low temperature (≤12℃). Our company has studied and screened the formation mechanism of low-temperature scale and the pharmaceutical formula to prevent the formation of low-temperature scale, and worked out the water treatment formula to prevent low-temperature scale, and successfully solved this technical problem. The low temperature scale problem affecting the normal production of oxygen production was solved successfully without changing any technology, dosage and testing methods.

According to the formation mechanism of low-temperature scale in oxygen production system, combined with the need of scale inhibition and corrosion inhibition in high temperature section, the scale inhibition dispersion agent with higher calcium tolerance, better stability and scale inhibition efficiency at low temperature is selected. The formula focuses on the scale inhibition of the copper heat exchanger in the water system, focuses on the particularity of the air separation molecular sieve of the key equipment for oxygen production, and considers the environmental requirements of the selection of low phosphorus agents, as well as sterilization and algae and other supporting water treatment technology, which can effectively control the scale problem of the high and low temperature section of the oxygen system and the harm of corrosion and bacteria and algae propagation.
